Lines, polka dots and lots, lots of color. «It will be a visual and virtual festival that will stimulate new horizons of perception and perspective of things thanks to the curatorship of Sergio Colantuoni», explains Agostino Poletto, director of Pitti Immagine. The eye wants its part but the substance will not fail. For the 94th edition of Pitti Uomo in Florence – from 12 to 15 June – many events and guests: from P.O.P. Pitti Optical Power at I GO OUT in Sala della Ronda in Fortezza da Basso, the new project that interprets the contemporary trend of outdoor style with the collaboration of Reda Active that will present its high performance fabrics. Menswear Guest Designer of this edition is the London designer Craig Green who will run on June 14th.
After a long silence, the Roberto Cavalli Group returns with a fashion show designed by Paul Surridge on the 13th evening; while the Designer Project is Japanese. Fumito Ganryu will present its independent and eponymous label in the sign of modern & conceptual.
As well as compatriot Shinpei Yamagishi with his BED j.w. Ford will be on the 14th. The young designers’ catwalk will not be missing: for this edition the Guest Nation is Georgia with, among others, the emerging Aznauri, Anika and Gola Damian.
Together they turn 110 years old. Claudio Marenzi presents at the Stazione Leopolda Library, the library of the past, present and future of the Herno family brand that, in 70 years, has made the hook its symbol of reference. While Lardini celebrates 40 instead of organizing a morning event in a context of flowers and colors. Fifty are instead those of L’Uomo Vogue that starts with a special issue: five fashion stories entrusted to as many female photographers, a female point of view on contemporary masculine style.
The other events
After the inauguration in January, Gucci opens two new rooms of the Gucci Garden Gallery curated by the critic Maria Luisa Frisa and conceived by the creative director of the maison Alessandro Michele. Moncler, after the preview at the last fashion week in Milan, launches the collection of Hiroshi Fujiwara, one of the designers involved in the Moncler Genius project. And then again MCM, Birkenstock and the launch of the COS capsule on June 13th. Federico Curradi returns with an installation-event in the nuns of his Florence; the launch of Ermenegildo Zegna – Beachwear, the collaboration of Nick Wooster x Paul&Shark. And much more.
