The French designer Hubert de Givenchy died at age 91 on Saturday 10 March, in his castle near Paris. The news was released by the partner of the designer Philippe Venet, with a note: “Monsieur Givenchy went off in his sleep on Saturday, March 10, 2018. The grandchildren and grandchildren, the children, share the pain”


Founder of the homonymous fashion house Givenchy, back in 1952 – today entrusted to the designer Clare Waight Keller – Givenchy is recognized as one of the greatest stylists of the last century for his idea of elegance, pure and simple, not surprisingly dressed women like Queen Elizabeth II, Jacqueline Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn: it is her the famous sheath dress that the actress wears in Breakfast at Tiffany, one of the most iconic twentieth century dresses.
